Well, I've been after a decent, fast lens for a while, since my brother got hold of his bargain priced sigma 70-200 f2.8, but haven't come across anything at a decent price. I spotted a decent deal on a used on of these on Sunday, and thought I'd give it a go...

From looking around the various sites, it seems to be a lens that is overshadowed to an extent by the 70-200, but those that buy it seem to really like it...
It turned up today and is in basically as-new condition, so I stuck it on the camera and snapped off a few quick shots around the house...
Then I thought I'd take a couple of quickies of the cars - I think all three are ready for some wax - look at that rubbish beading!
Impressions from the first shots are that this is a lovely lens - it has a quality, solid feel to it, and has the bonus of being a LOT lighter than the 70-200 f2.8, so should be easier to handle for long periods.
I'm looking forward to getting out and about to play with it more soon, and will post up some results!
