Dawn, if you take that car to Renault rather than Danny, I'll slap you next time I see you.

Danny doing the car will be a) cheaper, b) he'll do a better job c) the stamp will be worth more to anyone that know their onions come re-sale.

Seriously, I took my ph1 there was nothing short of majorly impressed. He did such a good job, found a few faults I didn't even know about and fixed them for free, got rid of a rattle I had for a year, fixed my "oil OK" light on the dash, refitted the bumper better than it had ever been. Phone him.

Car looks lovely, best looking 197 colour combo going, change the wheel colour and I'll kill you.

Far better going to a specialist like Fred@BTM or Danny or Mike@MWM than going to the renault main dealer IMHO, the staff in the dealers generally dont have anything like the experience of these cars that independant specialists who work on them day in and day out do.
You might get lucky and get a technician who knows and cares about these cars, but you also might not, with the smaller specialists you dont have that risk.

Its only a simple job ultimately, but its still one that its possible to get wrong, especially as its so fiddly when the engine is still in the car.

Going to someone who is a specialist and hence does them every week, rather than once every few months like a main dealer mechanic is likely to do, is your best bet.

Cheers guys. I have already rung Renault & the last garage who serviced her that supposidly carried out the belt change, they have nothing on their system.

So it has to be done

if I start pulling it apart, and it's got a new aux belt and tensioner, we can proceed with caution. It's not a big deal to treat it as an inspect first and change it if it needs it job
