Brake disc rust

  Seat Leon Cupra 290
dont use my car that often and live right on the seafront so leaving it for a week will leave a bit of surface rust on the discs.

i know by using it it will go away but is there anything that you can put on them to protect them?

Normal mate. When I changed my discs, a tiny bit of rain fell and the rust spots appeared immediately.

aint there some stuff you can coat it with or anything, the rears look buggerd these days, dont get a lot of use with the 4 pots up front i guess

I can do a 100 mile B-road blast and when I get home my fronts are smoking and my rears are still cold and have rust on them lol

Does anybody know how to increase the rearward bias on a 172 Cup? I think the rears should be working a tiny bit more that they are - Im having real trouble keeping them rust free on the road. Ive gotten to the point where Ive been dragging the handbrake every now and then to try to clean the discs back up.

Brembo do disks with a coating that stops the rust forming, they're an anthracite colour. Not cheap though.
