Reno said on my ticket it required doing immediately. I figured Ive had the car for 23months, and 80% is 4/5 of that time. Therefore 1/5 of that time is just under 5 months. So I should be ok at least for 2 months.
Brake wear depends on milage so if yo do a few more miles then less than 5 months and they will have gone. 80% is more of a guess I think not an exact figure.
Its easy to chaneg them I had 80% wear on mine at the first service and got some pads a few weeks later and did them myslef dead easy have a search for how to do it. The pads are the 1.8 16V ones by the way. £20 down at Halfords. I wouldnt bother with uprated one the stock are good enough.
Dont leave the till them complelty down as they may damage the disks so you need some new disks which are more expensive than some pads.
Get a Haynes manual for the last shape Clio will show you how to do the brakes if your worried but 1/2 hr job each side at worse.
brakes wear all depending on your driving style, driving conditions(eg-moterway) and mileage.if there getting to 80% worn i would personally think about changing them.new pads are cheap and you could easily fit them yourself.better to change the pads now or risk damaging your discs when they completly wear down.
