Brake Pads

My pads need replacing front & rear on my Clio Sport 172 mk1. Any advice on alternatives to the standard ones? I want better stopping power with as little dust & squealing as possible for a decent price. The K-TEC KEVLAR PADS seem to fit the bill. What do you reckon??

yep... ktec will sort you out, thats what i got with my big brakes, think they are EBC though unless Ktec have there own branded ones, cos my Ktec ones were EBCs



failing that halfords ripspeed seem to stock red dot pads, they keep them for the 16v and 172 in the branch near me maybe the same near you. you may have to battle through the sky high stacked neon gear knobs and sh*te stickers though....

We get s discount off Tarox pads - I bought some a while ago, theyre fine - considerably less fade than the standard ones.

when gettin TarOx id jus go for the street pads if i was you....

the rally pads need a lot of warming up as there proper rally pads

how much were they mike?? did you get them from K-Tec?

Ive got Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads on my Mk2 172 and theyve superb! A bit noisey but they dont fade, even on track days. Pads are about £120.

Ive got the K-tec pads an all, kevlar jobbies, not bad at all.

*LOL* Well, the old (std) pads lasted a mere 7k miles and about 5 track days! The PF carbon ones are much harder and are supposed to last much longer. But then again, £120 for pads every 18 months isnt too bad if you spend a fair amount of time on-track.

Im need to change my front ones soon, not too bothered about increased performance as the OEM pads seem to work fine for my use, but kick out loads of dust, are the normal K-Tec Kevlar or Tarrox any less dusty?

About £50, delivered. Got them direct from Tar-ox.
