Brake pedal sensor electrical fault 172

Sometimes when I turn the ignition off the instrument panel is staying on. If you press the brake pedal it shuts down straight away. Also if you operate the handbrake. Had a search doesn't seem to have been mentioned before. Anybody had this problem?
