Just fitted the recommended brembo hc's and ds2500, still bedding in but already brilliant, just the slightest touch and i feel like im going through the windscreen haha
Braided hoses and some decent Dot 4 brakes fluid first, I flushed the whole system out with new stuff also. That alone made a big difference, then after that i'd go for Brembo HC's and then depending on your driving style and car use choose a set of pads.
Depends what you're going to use the car for. I had Goodbridge braided lines and Castrol Response fluid fitted/added a year ago - immediately noticed better pedal feel (not sure whether mainly down to the lines or the new fluid.) Second trackday took standard front pads and discs from being 50% to 80% worn, but I'd always found them pretty good until then. Went for Pagid Blue's (and Brembo Max) to try and give some longevity. Hopefully they'll hold up to trackdays. But a bit irritating on a day-to-day basis. Don't squeal that much now, but sound of pads running over grooves on the discs is an annoying noise I hadn't anticipated - but great bite. For the couple of trackdays a year I plan doing, probably over the top - but no regrets, very effective, I'll have to see how they last. (And I'm a sucker for the look of the grooved discs )
Just been buying my brake parts, shopped around and found the best prices Brembo HC discs from NW Performance £63 inc. post: Ferodo DS5200 pads and HEL braided hoses from Camskill £144 inc. post.
