Brakes advice

  Bumder With A Buffer
So am doing my first session on track soon (only RAF Marham) but have been thinking about sorting out my brakes.

Currently have Grooved discs and EBC Greenstuff front pads at the front and normal discs and EBC Green on the rear.

Sometimes the car feels like it wont stop and i swear the system needs bleeding which will get done soon.

Also I know my rear driver caliper sticks occasionally so need to look at that but have been wanting to fit some braided lines for ages.

Just wanted osme advice as to whether fitting braided lines and bleeding etc will help out and also if I should bin the EBC's!

Im in the same situation with the Track day,

i have done brands before on Standard Disks and Pads and the car was fine TBH.

I would look at bleeding your Brakes if they feel spongy before spending any money on lines and Pads.

I just want braided lines lol! Had them on my valver and they made a massive difference imo.

Cars going in for a quick health check soon and to have de-cat fitted so il get them to bleed it then.

I've got some K-tec braided lines to fit (as well as some Ferodo DS2500s), after looking at that straight at Marham think the brakes will need all the help they can get!

When was the last time you had the brake fluid changed richy? Might be a good idea too.

Greens will be fine your first trackday as your be taking it relatively easy (i would have thought) get some good brake fluid though and braided lines if you want too.

Everyone slags greenstuff pads off but the compounds have changed since most people last used them. There still only slightly better than stock though and will fade if pushed.

Agreed, I used the new compound EBC's on track throughout last year.

Along with braided lines and high temp fluid they worked for me, even better were the carbon loraine pads but they are not good for everyday use due to the bloody noise!

Braided lines are better for pedal feel and position consistancy, having freshly bled fluid is better for your health.

Do that and stick with the pads/discs. If you kill them off, try something else.
