Breaking a TV..........

We have a really old non widescreen CRT crap TV.

My misses is happy with it, but I am not! How can i break it without making it obvious!!!

Keep complaining about it! That's what I did with my parents with our old 21" TV. One day I come home and find my dad ready to order a 42" Plasma! My mum moaned about waste of money etc until she started living with it and she very soon thanked me for making them change lol

Yeah, just detune everything, that way you can still flog the telly for few

Onevish he doesnt know everything but apparently he is 235 so you do pick up a lot of knowledge along the way

or open her up and cut/break the aerial connection and the scart connection. So no aerial feed or scart working

full on breaking it is too obvious! a suble trick, like the resitor in the arial is whats needed! or fine tune the channels out just slightly? more and more every few days, or move the arial in the loft?

Undo the case

Get yourself grounded to something

Get some rubber gloves, and a screwdriver

Carefully pop the cap on the back of the screen, makes a loud pop

Try not to touch anything after doing that

Throw it off a bridge after that, claim the dog did it

Put the resistor in the back of the Aerial plug like BrianR suggested.

Funnily enough many people used to do this and try and claim it was faulty through there insurance (i used to work for a TV repair company and we dealt with claims) some people just wanted a new TV so would put a Resistor in the aerial and complain of bad reception.

Coca-Cola used to be a favourite to killing a TV as well!

Burn the cable under the plug and claim it 'sparked' when you turned it on...claim its a saftey hazard or summing and insist on a new one...
