Brembo Max lasted 50 miles :(

I changed my discs the other day, and my right Brembo Max disc has lost all its grooves!

I run carbone lorraine RC5 pads but the discs lasted 20months and these have lasted a week.

The left had side is fine and still looks brand new, but i never had any squirming under breaking, as if one was better than the other.

I am assuming that my caliper has seezed or something. Where can i get a caliper rebuild kit from. What should i do.

Tbh I'd take it back, a week is not fitness for performance so your statutory rights say you can. Saying that, they'll probably try and argue it was your cars fault but its worth a shot. I'm assuming they weren't cheap as they're Brembo?

I'd strip the caliper down and clean it properly. Grease up the sliders and try it again..

I got them from ebay. I'm sure you cant get fake brembo max's

sounds like seized calipers - standard with race pads if you don't regularly maintain the calipers

Yeah i had allways thought that it cant be doing the grease in the piston any good with the tempreatures they get up to.

FAIL

Any advice on what i sould re grease them with because of the high temp?

lol mine have lasted almost 3 years (and a lot of miles, but mostly motorway) and still have all their grooves.

A new set on the way though, 3 years is a little long

it could be, i've seen people melt the caliper boots off before!
