some info on brett's vee(think i no how this works now:D)
Oldschoolbaby (brett) came to me last year 1 week befor the fcs and was a bit unhappy with the way his vee looked and said he always wanted it done in noctune
at this point he said it did not matter if it was not done in time for fcs but i told him it would be done in time for the show
had a long week as i was also doing the catalunya car and the green kermitt car.lots of late nights and earyl starts but i got all of them done with time to get some much needed sleep so i could go to fcs brettwas over the moon with the way his car looked and i was happy to do it for him

Not again... ffs.

I don't mean to sound rude mate, but when starting a thread just consider a few basic factors....

You've done the first bit right, and you've got a title, but a bit of text to introduce the point of these pictures would be nice.

If you would then just put all your pictures in your first post, rather that post up a load of seperate images on their own.

i.e - this is a place to actually have discussion, a chat, get to know people with similar interests. So far I've opened this thread and though, ok a purple vee, how nice. Who's is it? WTF have you done to it? Why did you even post it in the first place?

Ok, so it's brett's, but why am I looking at a picture of some dude called Brett's car?

It's Nocturne 268 the colour Renault decided not to use on the Vee due to paint complications at that time.

Lovely to see what it looked like in real life on a Vee. Now get it back to how lovely it was before Brett.

Oh and don't have the next one butchered. :)

So he's resprayed it?

Can't see that being a good idea on a Vee.

I'm disappointed with the quality of the merge... wish I was a mod right now. :rasp:

Bung the text at the top, sort out where it says nocturne etc and make it look like a first post should do please? Then the chap'll know how to make a good'un next time :D

A prominent mag feature car, so not in bad nick. (very nice actually)

In similar setting it looks quite fine also.

Rob's using his beared flasher looks to get what he wants!

It's a lovely colour but possibly devaluing the car?

It was a colour originally intended for the Vee though Gallister and is a Renault colour, so it makes it a pretty special car all in all.

Oh, and you know this smile can get me anything ;)

Lovely loverly colour and suits the vee... That said, the job looked rushed, especially the finishing; a lot of buffer trails! A fair whack of orange peel on the lower sill and a run on the rear bumper!

I'm not convinced sorry. Renault never painted any cars this colour, it's non oe at the end of the day the shell is silver, unless of course he's stripped every single part from it, engine included.

I doubt he has, stunning car but i'd buy a "straight" one. It's different in this case because all the owners/buyers know who's car it is and what has been done to it, so not all bad. It's just a lot different to respraying a 1*2 white ect... imo.

Fair play to the guy but give me ugly silver over a respray anyday.

I would agree, but I guess Ph1 V6s at, what, 10 years old, will only be bought by enthusiasts now (in my eyes).

Agreed, he probably hasn't devalued it because people know the car well enough.

I'd still have to have a "straight" one. And it'd be mk2.

My apologies, I don't have it on my escibe colours for the modus but you never know.

It's still not my point as you probably know. You're changing the colour of the car at the end of the day.

That's OK gally. The Modus is bad enough looking without imagining they would give it a gay colour on top lol

It's sounds like an awesome job, 5 day turnaround respray!

That sounds like a rare car I want to buy!

Isn't originality the key to cars like this? I know my car and many other rare cars are sought after based on how original they are.

Lol@ the gay colour, it looks nice on the vee shape! I'm sure the Modus makes it look sporty aswell!

Avantime was available in Nocturne...

Does it make any difference? I worded it wrong.

Painting a rare car in a different colour albeit a manufacturer colour is a bad idea. Like I said isn't orginality the key to rare/these cars?

Out of curiosity would an enthusiast and mileage dweler like Ali buy a vee like this? I'd say no. He (The buyer) would rather have a genuine colour imo?

I seen them with my own eyes man! I'm not blind! Whatever finishing work was done left trails. It ruined an otherwise nice job!

I would buy it as this car of Brett's is well cared for and documented.
In original paint it would fetch top money, there's always going to be people saying it's had a crap respray job and that's devalued it, but IMO the paint colour choice lessened the devaluation.

True. Although thats mainly due to the fact that i bought the best coloured V6! ;) I'm not a huge mk1 fan in silver!
