Brick dust?

  106 GTi + Clio 182
After picking up my new car on Friday and driving over to Scarborough to meet up wuth the lasses for a girls weekend away, the exterior has taken a bit of hammering and seems to have attracted, what appears to be brick dust? I took it get cleaned, came home and it was still filthy, so I instantly drove back and told them to sort it out. Anyway, its faded but stil this faded, what seems the be brick dust is stuck to the car and they can't get it off. I'm wondering what it is and how I shift it? It kinda has a sappy, like texture, was orange like brick dust and sprayed accross the car with mud in the usual areas. its faded load, but not come off? Any ideas?

Cheers boys. Clay bar was my next move. I wondered about T Cut but thought it may be a but harsh?

I have no clue what it is. Its sprayed all up the side where the mud was but the mud has dissapeared when cleaned but this is harder to shift? flecks of it all over.

And unless you saw a black 182, you didn't see me. I was out, not driving!

Ok can I just ask. Did you mean BRICK or BRAKE?

Some of the answers on here are for different things lol.

Yeah erm before you go claying your car lets figure out what the problem is.

Claying anything should be a last resort or you'll end up dragging whatever it is accross the paint.

Brake/brick dust/ tar can be softened or removed with products before claying.

Could even be clay from the mud you mentioned.

try a few products before claying. A good apc, meguirs or AS G101 before you start drackig particles across your paint.

Did someone say T Cut?

Hi Kayleigh, you well? Nice to see you've survived CS thus far!

Re the brick dust, the first thing you need to be careful of is moving it around your paint, as I'm sure you'll have guessed. The clay has the potential for this, so I would hold off on this idea to start with. There are products out there to get rid of "fall out" but this is usually tar and iron. These are Tardis/AG Intensive Tar Remover and Iron X.

You mentioned the colour is orange. Could be iron related, i.e. iron flecks that have rusted, and this can be sorted with Iron X.

Another member recently had issues with concrete splatter and White Vinegar was the solution (har har) to that.

Do you have photos (of the car, easy boys) and the paintwork so I can get a better understanding of it?

Cheers,

Jamie

I've just been out to get pictures but I'm struggling TBH. The flecks are tiny don't show up in the photo, especially with reflection from thw shine. To be honesy, it bas a texture to it in places that I can only describe as like sappy texture, when you sit it under the tree? I will try to get pictures tommorow.

How much is it to take it to detailers and do you think they could get it off?
