Broadband advice

I need some advice on best broadband products.

First of all, I'll have to get a landline and it seems that it'll be BT £10.75 new line option.

Then, I really need to sort internet at home and I have no idea what package is the best and who is the best provider.

Anyone can help?

Many thanks to all for your advice.

An update... I have rang up Virgin and it's all sorted. Installation date on Thurs am, they'll ring 30 mins before turning up so they won't waste my time if they decide not to turn up!

£25 intallation, I need to buy a wireless router but that's ok. Also getting £10 off first bill.
Went for the 2 for £20 so phone and broadband. Phone is unlimited WE to UK landline which is fine. Broadband is 2MB speed and unlimited download.

DO NOT GO WITH VIRGIN, their up to 8mb broadband is shite, off peak speeds were usually ok but on peak speeds were terrible, my connection was worse than a 256kb connection at times, you may be ok though being on a fixed 2mb.

I have just migrated to ADSL24 and the difference is amazing, steady speeds and gaming pings all day.

It's a bit late Mark!! The guy from Virgin turned up this morning and after 1 hour set up phone and internet.
I'll have a look tonight and see if it works etc...

lol, i was thinkin about going with Virgin for the £10 2mb broadband... as i dont need a homeline... and hated bt...

An update... 12 days later and so far so good. I'm a happy Virgin customer.

no, there are hundreds of thousands of them. Like any company, most happy customers dont say anything whereas an unhappy customer will tell anyone willing to listen.

go with bt, i have never ever had any problems not ven once in the past 6 years.25 per month think we only have 5 mb unlimited downloads, but cumon 5mb is stil fast and there always on the phone, mindew only ever rung them once when we first got it.
