broken CF splitter

Car  Clio 182 FF RB
crashed in to a big curb in the snow and ripped half of my precious carbon fibre splitter off....half of it is still on the car and i was thinking that instead of paying another £110 for another one would it be possible to stick it back togther? i still have all the peices that fell off. If this is possible what would i use to stick it back together?

Some places can do a CF Repair.... I know JamesS had his repaired but that was local so around Norfolk somewhere.

alright mate

ive repair'd a few carbon things in the past
its easy enough to go down to your nearest shop who supplies fibre glass and carbon fibre

get some resin to and a good brush and you should be able to mould it back together
good luck mate

:D

i fixed my nomal cup splitter with black insulation tape. lol. not paying renault prices for a new one! lol.
tape it up then buy a small sheet of cf effect sticker to patch it up?

Might be difficult to patch up with the CF weave - a lot of patients involved at best guess

Here's my repairing effort. A whole 8 inch piece was smashed out, so i screwed it back on them seamlessly fixed it with gaffer tape to cover the cracks. Pow...

haha good effort owen!! :p thanx for the help peeps, I know a good bodyshop close by so i might just go to him and have a chat with him, he's always helpful. Although if it costs nearly as much to repair as it does to buy a new one i might as well just buy a new one! Remind me never to take my car out in the snow again :(

Yer, I got another new one now too, but am going to keep it for the summer (and poss even just car shows) and keep the 3-piece on there. Adds character i think.lol

get it right girlie :P

As mentioned earlier, I had by carbon splitter repaired after cracking it in two places, thanks to a pheasant.

The cracks had new carbon laid up over them, and then it was all cured again on a low temp cure. After that it was lacquered, and looks good as new now.

Only thing to watch is if it goes in again for another cure, make sure it's low temp as otherwise it will warp and won't go back on!
