BTB or GDI

  megan R26.R number 006
yozzasport should be able to do any tailpipe design you want as each exhaust is made by hand and to order and fred would know ;)

I thought they were cheap at the minute because they had bought a batch of them?

no they have just reduced the price at the moment i have ordered one off them two weeks ago and it is in production right now he has got three other exhaust on order to all have been sold and he was on about getting a couple more ordered so i would give him a call if i was you ;) and see what he can do for you

I'd go BTB as there is one for sale, If it was Sold then my next choice would be Yozza

Yozzasport sounds amazin, quite loud tho, but the outward rolled looks naff
BTB again as good quality, but over priced and heard one or 2 dodgy reviews
GDi is an off the shelf zorst...worst of the 3, but then again i had a k-tec and loved it so, sound in this case is more important to me!

All three sound good tho! Only heard GDi one in vid tho.

BTB, as they are a superior exhaust manufacturer.
Quality is second to none from what i've seen, that includes YS systems.

Lovely sound too, just right.

Only issue is sourcing one.

Leon off here had a BTB on his old 182 before he got rid of it and it sounded superb, quiet on idle, purposeful when cruising and excellent when giving it death.
GDI systems are a bit louder, quality wise I couldn't comment, but I'm extremely happy with mine, minimal welds and proper mandrel bends in them.
Wont comment on the YS system, heard them and they are far too loud for my tastes and living so close to the people that make them I've seen their work before and will refrain from making comments. Laura fancies one for hers for some reason though... my neighbours will be happy... lol

BTB i saw at spa (was on a trophy) had a cracked weld around where the tailpipe meets the silencer which is odd for BTB, but then it had been MIG'd on

nothing wrong with the company that make the yozzasport stuff

looks very nice does that, bit too many welds, would be nicer if the pipes were just one or two pieces, but still, doubt it makes a great amount of difference.

JP might be better these days, but they have a very mixed reputation around here (they are only 5 mins up the road from me btw), a couple of mates have had their systems and one literally fell to bits as he was driving (was on an Ibizia), but this was a couple of years back and he'd not had it on more than a couple of months. The item in the pic looks better quality though, but I guess there's no real way of telling, life time guarantee makes it less of a headache though

true, they had some issues a few years ago (pre yozzasport) with steel quality, but then so did lots of people in industry. they're bloody good, if i could tell you some of the customers they have even you would be surprised!!

Dunno if it was the steel, it was at the welding points on his backbox where it started and fell to bits on the silk road at about 90mph

For a performance exhaust I'd use an off the shelf system, if I wanted a custom one I'd get it done somewhere who can make them extremely quiet (my idea of quiet btw, so under 90+db's ;))

brandy and lemonade, i rest my case

I dont really drink as you know... still, at Spa who was the one standing at the end of the night? As I recall only me, Yoz and Jon made it to the end, someone skulked off to bed ;)

Laura fancies one for hers for some reason though... my neighbours will be happy... lol

does she :S

well, you were looking at them at one point... you change your mind so often I can rarely keep up lol

Could've sworn Saner had a 182 BTB exhaust for sale at the rolling road on Sat. Maybe worth a pm.

That a BMW manifold?

I'd suggest H&S in this little debate, but i was'nt very impressed with mine.

Looked ace, Sounded amazing, but for some reason i was 10bhp+ down with it fitted.

Seems very odd, was it a true 2.25/2.5" system with the baffles etc in? I'd have thought most places just copy the original design, but make it from SS instead?

fmp_ - that looks much better, purely because it has half the welds and the pipes look to have been mandrel bent in a machine, not pre bent, sent and welded. If it's a tig weld it wont make any difference, but it just looks miles neater. My system is like that btw, minimal welds and a true 2.5" mandrel bent sytem... just wish it was a bit quieter now it's not on ITB's

Jon I'm not sure, but it was literally the first aftermarket 182 system in the UK and i had no idea what diameter would suit it and we went too small i think.

It used to grow about 4 inches too plus i had to heat it and move it about to get it to line up correctly.

(But then i did rush H&S to be fair, but at £560 i wanted it yesterday)

The current system is way better! No idea why i was down on power.
Had a CDA fitted too at the time, sounded awesome. I really miss that noise.

haha, and how does that blow my pic out of the water? you an exhaust designer/exhaust fabricator/welder now??? not bad, collectors aren't very nice though, but it is only a pic

no complaints from my btb :D

if you can get a btb for a good price then i would go for it, even if it is second hand, the quality is up there with the best of them! if not then i would go with a yozza, especially now the price has come down
