Buckled Wheel

Bought my 172 yesterday. On the way home I noticed that the car was drifting to the left and the steering wheel was shaking at high speeds (like 50+)..

Went down to my local tyre place this morning, had the tracking done, and told them to balance the wheels... Found out one of the wheels is buckled badly (front, drivers side) and the one on the passenger side (front) is slightly buckled (which they sorted).

On the way home the car is still pulling to the left (not as much, but still doing it) and the steering wheel is still shaking (again, not as much though).

My question:
Is the cause of the car drifting to one side, the buckled wheel?? Or something else??
And is it ok to be driving around on it until I can find/afford some standard 172 alloys?

Thanks,
Paul.
