buggar my remap

ive been told by admrimal an directline they wont insure me with a remap on my dci86 im 22 with a years no claims :( i only want to do that its not like im sticking drain pipes on it an lowering it :S

  BMW M135i
ive not done it ive not got the car yet :S seriously

Now they know you've got a remap it'll be the 1st thing they check after a crash ;)

No the point is that tbh you could've got it done and never told them and they'd never have found it if you stacked it. But know its on their records that you've enquired about it it'll be the first thing they check if you need to claim.

:dapprove: i thought it wouldnt have been an issue its hence my call to directline ive got my renewal an wanted to find out how much they want to insure my new car i did say the mod was only an inquiry its only an idea  i thought remaping was a common mod

and the moral of the story either pay for expensive model or dont enquire an fine tune it anyway im to honest

Doesn't matter the fact that you've enquired and they've given you a price means its recorded, it is a common mod and also a very transparent one (as long as its not a tuning box thing) so most people won't have told the insurance.

ive hinted so they bond to check for its a shame if heaven forbid i do prang it they can check it an see ive done nothing an i get my pay out

lets hope its quick enough theirs noway im going to do it now

or do they now think im going to do it anyway regardless

They know you might do it as you have enquired about it, so if you do renew with them and don't add it to your policy, it'll be the 1st thing they have on their checklist if you crash.

adrian flux are usually pretty good with modifications..

no increase in policy for my upgraded brakes, air filter or exhaust

only an extra £80 if i was to tune my 182 up to aprox 200bhp

thanks for the tip

is it ture that insurence share info between each other even if i move my policy an dont declair my mod directline may disclose it i think i run it for a year then try again when my policy is up for renewal maybe move then :S

Dont understand why Admiral wouldnt let you as they insure lots of mods, did you enquire why?

As for DL they dont insure mod's if u are under 25.

she said no i was suprised but couldnt be bothered to ask why i got the feeling both didnt really understand what ecu remaping was also its a brand new car lol ;)

im just trying to work out if its worth getting quotes from those like i said to them it depends on how much extra it costs its nice to have the poke im still unsure how slow the car will be i cant afford mega money on insurence ive only been driveing 2years

if i dont do it ive got nothing to hide but i dont fancy directline trying it on :(

They list a chips and engine blueprints on their options of mods, wierd. Im only 23 but choosing a chip only put my ins up £50 (just experimenting dont have one) and i wouldnt have thought it would be any diff. Can only think its your ncb's.

im not sure

directlines quote seems good but can i really renew it an not worry about my cover  i also worry to much if you hadnt noticed

its solved my bodykit idea though ;) im not haveing one

Go with a specialist such as Greenlight or Directline. I've never had a competitive quote on any car from the big names.
