Buring movie file to play in DVD player?

I have a AVI which I want to put on a DVD so it can be played via the DVD player, how do I do this?

not sure, I've never done it, just heard nero is the programme to use

Or download a program called Win Avi and convert the file from a .avi file to one that can be put onto a blank Dvd-R.

i really hate doing this - winds me right up.. straight forward but takes bloody ages and something always goes wrong.... youll probably end up fcuking it off and buying what ever u are converting to dvd... oh and its nero vision(4) in case you are still wondering...

if your dvd player supports divx then jsut burn it using any program at all... even windows integrated s**t
