Depends on your DVD player.

Any decent DVD player will play DIVX/XVID files as well so providing the movie you have on you PC is in that format you can simply burn a data disc and stick it in the DVD player.

Alternatively you'll need to convert the movie to DVD (vob) format.

Google "convert to dvd" and take it from there.

just a sony dav sb-100 5.1 kit. nothing special tbh.

just trying to rip a dvd thats badly scratched to see if i can save it. never tried ripping a dvd tbh.

i guess i should do it more as its connected to my tv so could make use of media center a bit more i guess.

download and install dvd shrink from here http://www.dvdshrink.org/ that will re-encode the movie so it will fit on a 4.7gb dvd and rip the movie to your hardrive or if you got a dual layer burner and have 8.5gb dvd's you can just download and install dvd decrypter from here http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/ that will copy the whole movie to your hard drive then you can burn it to dvd again using nero or what ever burning software you use and it will play in your player.
