Buyin 182 from dealers

I was thinking about ordering a brand new clio from a brokers to save money but also want to order from renault so i can trade in my car.

Had some top quotes from a few brokers, £12,350 with both cup packs in Racing blue or £12,650 with both cup packs and in a met (this was with New Car Discount) but they only offered me an allowance of £3k for trade in.

I have currently have a 02 51plt Proton Satria Gti and its easily worth double that allowance. Id sell private if i could but with havin another 3cars in the family i have no where to store my car until it was sold. Think they are going for around 7k in autotrader.

So i think the best thing for me to do is trade my car in at renault and try and make a deal on a 182. Anyone have any prefs to which dealer i should go to in my area for the best deal, im near to blackbrun, preston & burnley? Also should i take the quotes in with me i got from the brokers and ask them to try and come close to this price.

Ill be willing to make a deal there and then on the day (hopefully this Sat). Ill be happy with a good trade in price and sum money knocked off the list price but should I haggle like mad like they do on TV.

Also Ill be needing finance, anyone have an idea what the going rates are at renault. Ive had a look over the net and found rates just below 6apr so might be better getting a loan.

Sorry for all the questiong just want to get a good deal and I know alot of you peeps have probably been in my position.

Thanks for any advice.

what about car auction? 4 or 5K INSTANT CASH

or stick in Autotrader for £5995 - MUST SELL THIS WEEK

I sold a car in 3 hours on Autotrader - Cash in 6 hours! cost £15

I got 3.2% finance from Renault Dealer and pushed them until they got within 300 notes of an import.

WARNING: watch finance extras such as Gap insurance, Tyre cover etc. can add £1000s to bottom line figure to pay

They finally agreed on £9800 @ 3.2%, then small print totalled to 11.5K!

But after an hour of negotiation and stripping ALL extras off the Bill

"I ONLY want the car!"

I Paid £10100 INCLUDING finance (9800) for an 11K list car

If you dont need the cash from your car to buy the clio sell it privately. Youll get more for it, and will get a better deal on the new car as a cash buyer.

why waste 3k?

Try some dealers - they may charge you 2 k more for the car, but give you 3 K (hypothetically) more for yours - you need to work out the options from each, and the real cost to you.

Pesonal loan will work out cheaper then PCP or similar if you want flexibility to sell the car at any point, or if you want the car at the end of the term.

Sell you car privately now. Then for £200 buy an old 205 or something (like I am driving) with a years or even just a few months MOT. You can drive it third party on your existing insurance. This will keep you going until your new 182 turns up in November/December. Ok so its cost you £200 but you will get £200 more for your current car if you sell it now instead of waiting til December when it has less tax, less MOT, more miles on the clock....

When your 182 turns up you can sell the old motor for £150 so its only really cost you £50! Or if you cant be assed just leave it down the road with the keys in!!!

I sold my Clio for £5250 and bought a £500 Fiesta to wait the few weeks for the 182 to be delivered. Due to certain circumstances that has now turned into a few months, and 2000 miles later its still getting me by lol

I recently bought a 182 from the dealers with delivery mileage (50 miles) with cup spolier & suspension pack in the colour I wanted for £13k (£2k saving off list) this was because the dealer had registered it. However, on new clios they offered me 0% finance over 3 years, with about a £5k deposit. BUT they wanted £15k. See if your dealers will do 0% finance, as i believe its nationwide.

Good decision on the 182, ive had mine a couple of weeks, its such fun!! I love it to pieces! My old BMW 325i coupe doesnt even come close in terms of fun!

there are definitely good Dealer deals to be had dude, but youve got to work at it to get em.

Theres _always_ a payoff (albeit further down the line) for a "too good to be true deal".. Its generally accepted that import/pre-regd have lower resale values, so work out what you want, how long youll own for and what loss you can expect before signing _anything_!!

£14,050 0% over 3 years, with £5k down and no trade-in was the best i got (Cambridge dealer) for a fully loaded 182.

Shop around, play a couple of dealers off against each other (politely, of course), pretend youre looking at imports/etc too - or try up norf, cos everythings cheaper up there!! But dont waste anyones time, otherwise youll get dropped like a stone:)

Have fun and be lucky - let us know how you get on:)
