buying a new car plz help

I'm in the middle of buying a new car. Everything seems sweet, ive viewed it, been to his house (been in his house n spoke to his dad) but the v5 hasnt been changed over to his name, but he has had it taxed since hes had the car? This is playing on my mind n b4 i hand over my money i want to know if there is any problems in him not having the v5 in his name... ie could it b nicked etc?

yeah if its not registered to him, he wont be able to sign it over to you... you need the persons sig who is on the v5, sounds dodgy but there could be a reasobable explanation, maybe its his dads name on it?
