Buying - Tips/things to look out for?

I should be buying/looking for a clio next week, and i was wondering what i should be looking out for and how to make sure ive got a good deal? I have about £1200 to spends so it will be the early model hopefully a 1.4 rt. Anything i should avoid?

Cheers guys

I had a 1.4 rt, they are ok but watch out as many 3 door manuals are overpriced imo. Id go for the phase 1 if i were you mate as i think they look nicer.

Check for rust iit will be the biggest killer.
They rust on the rear arches and sills and under the doors and under the boot.
