Buzzing Coming From Beside Passenger Door In 2002 172ff

I noticed today when i was sitting in my car waiting for the bird to come out of Next there was a buzzing noise coming from inside of my car. :/

The noise was coming from the glovebox/passenger door area when the ignition was switched on (No engine running) :(

I thiught i was something to do with my Climate control or stereo as these were the only two things switched on, but it wasn't.

Can anyone shed some light on this ?

Cheers guys

I have a feeling that it is the climate control. I think it's a fan that sucks air in from the cabin to check what the in car temp actually is. MY car has it as well, so if it's anything more serious, we're both in the s*~!

Sounds like the climate control fan.

The noise is probably above you, its in the same panel that the vanity light is in.

Costs less than a tenner to fix, if you have a search for it on this forum you should find a video that someone made with instructions :)

mine does it aswell allthe time even if the cimate control isn't on.
Just thought t was somethin from the fuse box.

Check if it is the fan might be the relays there not rhe quietes (the relays are just above the glove box) The interier fans easy to get to just remove the cover in the central top thing with the light on it and yu'll see what needs doing.

So is it really anything to worry about guys ???
If i can live with it.

Or does it mean when i put my climate control on "AUTO" it won't function correctly ??

Anyway what does the "AUTO" button on climate control do ?

And if it is something to worry about :(

How do i get the panelling off around the interior light ?

Is it clipped in ?

Don't suppose anyone has a link to the vid ?
As i aint got a clue what the thing is called i'm searching for!!

  Turbos.
Both Clios i've owned (one from new) have had Climate and whenever you press Auto it just whacks the fan speed up!

auto just measures temp inside and outside and sets to keep to a good temperture i think. the £10 is a new fan or try cleaning it.

Heres the pics from me removing the cover a few hours ago :approve:

Do i just unclip the fan thing from cover and disconnect plug and connect up new one ?

If i leave it disconnected from its supply wire will it affect my c control in any way when in AUTO Mode ? :(

What exactly is it meant to do ?
Does it alter the fan speed etc while c c is in AUTO Mode ?
with the info it receives to it ?

Cheers for your help boys and girls

P.s I noticed i wire complete with wiring connector thing on it on its own hanging loose under cover in roof opening bit where all wires come from :dapprove:
anyone ideas what its for ?
As the is no other wires in that area it could slot in to ?

Did the PH2 172ff's come with sunroofs at anytime in they're life ?

Would it be for that ?

As it aint for ma wipers or auto lights as they work a treat.

Nope never came in the Uk with sunroof was an option abroad though I think.

Wiring looms are a pain there so many typres could just be a redundant plug.

As for the spare plug what colour are the wires I can have a look up for them.

The sensor is just there to work out the temperatire in the car so the air con can regulate the temperature the fan just blows air over the sensor so its got an accrate representation of the cabin temp.

Disconnect it and either the system will think the cars either very hot or very cold (since theres no reading from the sensor I'm not sure off the op of my head if that mean high or low temp) and will adjust the fans etc accordingl.y I don't think it will recognise the temperture in the cabin sesor is deativated though. Just don't put it in Auto till you've a new sensor.

Yep just unplug and plug a new one in.

Ok cheers dude, i'll have a scan at the wire colours tomorrow and get back to ya ;)

What i have noticed is that the air con is switched off when i put it into AUTO Mode which would be because the sensor is shafted is it ?

P.s i don't suppose you know the correct part name for the sensor do ya ?

Cheers again

Nope no idea the part number sorry its a common part a dealership will have it in stock.

Maybe the system is realising its no sensor so yep its stopping trying to regulate temperature as it don't know what the temperature is.

dicky you just clean it out with a toothbrush when you remove it from the interior light surround. the proper name for it is interior temperture sensor for your climate control. if they say dont know its on the air con section.

The wire colurs are blue and black man

The black one goes into a terminal 1 and blue into a terminal numbered 2 on the connector

Fitted new interior temp sensor from Renault back in May and it stopped buzzing for a while.

But the buzzing is now back now ever so slightly :(

Maybe worth a try spraying it with WD-40 (into the spindle that spins) see if that quitens it down a bit. ;)

Bump, does anyone know what this spare plug is for ?

Theres another pic one page 1 showing its relation to the other wires etc

And why does my AC not come on when i press AUTO ?
