caliper bolts fooked, options.....?

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT
attempted to change pads today on the coupe!

tried undoing the caliper bolts to get the naff pads out and both as soft as crap! edges rounded off in no time

Tried hammering a smaller socket on, and mole grips with no luck!

any ideas what I can do other than chopping the end of the bolt off, but then leaving me with a fooked caliper!!

damn cars! nothing is straight forward!

cheers

I did the same thing last year when tightening up new 13 mm bolts after changing the pads. I was about to start throwing things around and have a big strop when my son suggested I do what Frad has said. Cut the rest of the bolt head away and slide the caliper off, you should then be able to get at the stub that's left. I wonder if this happens because the bolts are supposed to have glue added to lock them in place?
