Calling all 172 + 182 owners....

When your in any gear heading for the 7200rpm mark do u often get this kinda swerling noise now and then, its not the air filter before anyone says it, its kinda between 6000 and 7200rpm, coming from the front of the car

Dosnt always do it.... hard to explain the kinda noise it makes when it does it, any idea? And does yours do it???

cant hear anything above 6000rpm mate - too much screaming from the passenger seat

cant say Ive ever noticed anything like that to be honest.

The CDA isnt exactly hush hush but still hear it

Might stick my car on the rollers... see if any problem appears there in the power graph, and see what its putting out, worth it do u think?

never had that with mine mate. cant hear anything over the rattle coming from the headlamp adjustment panel!

thought id get the prospeed to drown it out a bit

Nope it def comes from the engine.... Happend last night whilst gunning it in second? Only did it once on journey

you exhaust manifold is quite close to the bulk head, left of centre from the inside of the car. I hear this noise (transfer of high flow gases), in my Cup at those rpms but not so much in my mates normal 172. This could be down to less sound deadening in the Cup?
