Calling Williams owners...

Id be interested in swapping my 16v for a mint and standard (filter etc excepted) Williams if anybody is willing and fancies a change. Basically, youd be getting one of the best Clio 16vs out there - with leather...

Engine: 1794cc F16i.e. twin-cam 16v. Re-built by specialist in 2001 with all new ancillary components (valve guides etc.). Complete with up-rated head, re-profiled camshafts, re-programmed ECU and new timing belt. Also with K&N induction kit, catalyst-back Mongoose exhaust system and Facet power boost valve. Up-rated ignition system including Magnecor HT leads. Polished and cleaned engine bay worthy of show. All rubbers, tanks and heat-shields polished or replaced with upgraded items.

Transmission: New differential, CV joints and up-rated gearbox casing. Gearbox inspected and cleaned. Williams specification clutch kit fitted 9,000 miles ago. New engine and gearbox mounts.

Wheels and suspension: Team Dynamics Motorsport 16” wheels in anthracite, with Renault badge centre caps and brand new 205/45/16 Yokahama A059 tyres. Suspension lowered professionally -30mm at front with Chassis Dynamics progressive springs; torsion bar adjusted -20mm at rear. New strut top mounts at front. New wheel bearings at front and rear. Tracking checked every 3 months.

Interior: Factory option grey leather interior, with height and lumbar adjustment. Original Renault dealer floor mats, Momo Champion steering wheel, Momo gear knob and Sparco pedals. Electric windows, mirrors and tilt/slide sunroof.

Brakes: New 16-Valve specification brake discs and pads. Serviced and cleaned callipers front and rear.

Exterior: Stunning in pearlescent gloss black metallic finish. All original panels. Never damaged or crashed - and no rust. Re-sprayed bonnet, roof and front bumper – so no stone chips! Colour coded side strips and bonnet vent. Smoked side repeaters. No other body modifications.

ICE: Pioneer DEH 6300-R CD head unit (2002 model), Infinity 6x9s, JBL 13cm in front doors, JBL tweeters in dash, JBL 10” sub in sealed sub box, Sony X-Plod amplifier. Custom false floor trimmed in original carpet. All installed in last six months.

Security: META M99/36T Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser, with remote locking. Car immobilises after 30 seconds. Extra loud siren! New key and fob.

Currently, mileage is 88,000 – but as I’m sure you will agree after reading the above, this figure is not entirely relevant in the way it would be if the car had not been re-built! Full service history (all bills, but no book alas) – and receipts for over £2000 of work in the last six months.

Sure just sell the shaggin thing and buy mine. Youll be driving in the passenger seat though. But all the WRC guys drive that way anyway.

ben

youd be better off selling yours then going to find a willy with the cash instead of doing a straight swap.

sure no willy driver will in their right mind take a step backwards to own a valver instead

wongy

GRRRR!!! It has to be worth a try doesnt it?? To be honest I wouldnt sell my Valver and then get a Willy as its a bit much hassle. But I reckon that this particular 16v has to be quicker and sweeter than a Willy in most circumstances - and you havent seen the condition of this car either!"align=absmiddle>

Unquote.

Will all due respect then Ben, if your valver is sweeter and quicker, why do you want a Williams ?.

Bill.

There are two (before it was lowered) in the gallery. Im not sure how to put them here as I havent got them on a web-page anywhere. I could e-mail some if anybody is interested.

I fancy a change becuase Ive realised that Im basically looking after the Valver as if it were a classic - i.e. not commuting in it, getting it so perfect and generally molly-coddling it a bit. Id like a Williams though just becuase Im never going to be using a car like this for daily use - and would just like something even more rare.

Id also consider cars like the Turbo (wide arch 5) or Turbo 2 if I had the cash (which I dont)

Youre probably right mate, but Im basically trying my luck - might as well! I was just hoping that someone with a mint Williams fancied a swap - as unlikely as that may be!

I have got to agree with Wongy. You know your car at the moment and obviously love it to spend so much time and money on it...keep it my friend.
