Everytime the belts are mentioned everyone always goes on about 72k.

Its 72k OR 5 YEARS!

Mine was done £500 all in for belt change with full cam kit and 36k service.

At most dealers, cambelt is roughly £300-£350.

Major service is a similar figure, hence done together, about £700.

The parts price depends on the engine variant...kits vary in price form £60+VAT to £120+VAT (ish).



Or you could just run it til it snaps and buy a new engine for £3500+ labour and VAT

Expect a quote somewhere between £250 and £300ish for the 36k service.



Just to reiterate- cambelt must be done at 72k or 5 years WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.

You might only do 1000 miles in 5 years, but the belt weakens and perishes with age.

Wouldnt wait till 72k personally, even if its not 5 year old. 50k max Id wait, read about a fair few belts snapping around this age. I paud 300 quid for mine to be changed including cambelt kit.
