Cambelt change due

Car  Jap Box
Hi,

How much roughly will it cost for cambelt change + service on 51 plate PH2

Pretty sure its in great need of one, done almost 80k without so far, been sat for two years now too.

What problems would be caused if change wasnt done and the cambelt went? Huge £££ to fix afterwards?

Thanks :)

Possibly worth doing water pump as well at the same time, especially if it's been sat for a while. I did my cambelt and water pump last weekend, not a massive job on the 1.2 16v's.

Think I got quoted around £200 for my old 1.2

Get it done before anything else tbh

Its all out anyway!

Thanks, will be geting it done this weekend then, need to get it put through MOT first and see what comes up.

Recently? Only ask as if the cambelt was near renewal, a new cambelt might have been fitted when the water pump was replaced. (Just a thought)

Ahhh my mistake, could have sworn it was water pump done but it was washers :(

How much would it cost with pump also? Know a mechanic so would it be worth getting parts in and doing it like that or mayaswel just go to other place?

Hard to tell because i did the work myself and paid trade for parts, but i would guess if the cambelt was being done anyway then having the water pump done might add on £40-£50 to the bill, but it is well recommended. (My price guess could be well out)
