cambelt change?

bought my new BG 182 2 week ago its 2005 and done 47k from evalns halshaw i enquired about the camblet when was there he told me it had been checked and its fine and doesnt need chaging but ive aso been told by a few people there meant to be done every 5 year so now worrying weaher it needs doing as soon as or to leave it as the garage told me its fine at mine advice please.....

You were lied to! I bought my RB and was told pretty much the same thing! Whilst it was being changed i was shown some of the rollers that were removed, Casings all cracked, at any given moment my lovely new car would have gone bang:dead:

Never trust a car sales person when it comes to important technical matters on your vehicle. If its not documented and you have doubts get it changed.

Thanks for comments people update just read service book to make sure weather it had anyhting in there of it been done even though the salesman told me there wasn't guess what I found last service ewthat was done in feb car also had belts and pulleys changed getting intouch with previous owner just to make sure so can stop me thinking it could go any min salesman at evans was useless not. Just with this everything it was always me chasing them up to find things out when they were meant to be ringing me and now just found out today that the log book has been put in gfs name the finance is in her name but car was meant to of been put in my name I questioned it they said were sorry must of been mix up joke so gotta send log book back to dvla and explain then wait 2-4 week to get log book back piss take not happy with them at all rant over lol overall happy ant gotta get cambelt done anytime soon
