Cambelt tools purchase???

  porsche 944 - 80's ftw!
Does anyone know where i could buy the tools to set up the cambelt on a 52 plate 172 cup?

The reason is that ive got a m8 who owns a garage and he fits heads every day but hasnt done one of these yet so hasnt got the tools.

Any other info about setting them up would be great too , thanks :)

If you'r mates not done a 172/182 one then forget it get a garage who know what there doing to do it.

I've got a cambelt chnage guide if tyou want but remember a lot of engines have been ruined by "good" garages having done the belts and unknowingly making mistakes.

That would be great if you would send me it edde.

I do trust him he's worked on most of my cars from range rovers to m3's but it doesnt hurt to be too careful eh.

I take it that the guide points out all the tricky areas?

i personally think you making them sound harder to do than they actually are, at the end of the day its JUST a twin cam engine and if he fits heads all day he is going to know about whats involved with engine timing etc

There ok! did one yesterday! but without the tools there a no no! if hes an engine man and tell him the crank pulley is floating he will understand! Some fords are the same!

I don't make any money from warning peoepl or by selling then new engines when there've been messed up.

But loads of good garage have messed them up before now just trying to warn you, do as you want I don't care realy. I'll just be telling the next few people who come here after a cam belt change there "superb" local garage messed up the cambelt change and needs to redo it (if there lucky).

i did mine with no locking tools
had to replace cam oil seals also that made it harder.
i was not sure but turned the crank over by hand to check!turn it 4-5revolutions?
anyway i done it.
