Cambelt, What do I need

Hi, so I've had a look on the forum and nothing can really give a definitive answer to it, as the local garages want around £300 for the cambelt and waterpump, me and my dad are thinking about doing it ourselves, can anyone advise what I need, obviously the belt :0, any tips whilst doing it and the timing would be appreciated.
