Think both HP and K-Tec use Piper cams. The ones that K-tec offer are 270s and 285s i think (both fast road) but if i remember correctly Nick said that he was getting idling probs with the 285 so they just use the 270s in their stage 2 package....
thanks for the info. been looking into it and is there any difference between piper cams and kent cams? do you know which ones are better and rough prices?
Dont think theres any difference between the two - maybe different models/timing but not quality - theyre both reputable! As for prices, have a look at k-tecs site or phone hp for prices....
running differing profiles of cams on standard pulleys is a bit of a waste as without vernier pulleys they cannot be timed in perfectly. Vernier allow more accurate timing, as they can be adjusted to smaller angles of degree, wheras with standard pulleys you are stuck with one tooth being min you can adjust cam. You can run uprated cams on standard pulleys, but you wont be getting full benefit
Id speak to the tuners and judge that way. Would have thought BB would be a good start as they have a RR and should know of any gains with their cams.
Think their cams inc followers are 399 and 299 if you send your old cams back. Ktec are about 300 each plus followers but they are probably fresh and not reground.
