The distance as shown by the arrow in this photo?

Basically the height of the subframe - i.e. the distance between the seat slide runner and the plastic seat base.

Once I have the measurement I'll explain why I need it. ;)

Thanks! :D

Erm... I'm not sure how that helps? I've obviously seen those as the photo comes from that auction.

If it's a roundabout way of suggesting I ask the seller to get the tape measure out, I've already asked but I thought I'd get a better response on here. :)

Distance between top of runner to base of seat = 90mm +/-0.2

Pain in the arse running all rnd the house for a ruler...lol:approve:

Don't worry, I already have a pair ;)

After fitting they seemed noticeably lower, more so than the 10mm in the option 182 and Trophy.

I noticed the subframes Renault use are different to the Recaro ones I have. Mine measure 80mm which explains not only why they feel so much lower but also why the OEM adjuster doesn't fit. You can see the difference in shape in the pic below:

I'm pretty chuffed after finding that out. 20mm might not sound much but it makes the world of difference over the standard items. Doing it aftermarket means I get to keep the leather in the rear too.

Go win those seats, they are awesome! :D

How much did you pay for your recaros out of interest? Are they the same trim as the OEM renault recaro seats?

Post some pics please......
Need to see what the seats look like with the leather rear as i might do this.

Can you get other subframe mounts from Recaro so that the OEM adjuster does not hit the seats?

Looking to do this mod myself but know the adjuster not fitting will annoy me, want it to look as the Recaros leave the factory when brought as an option.

Identical to the ones Renault use. It's rare for a manufacturer not to spec any changes to the trim, but Renault didn't.

I got them from http://www.capitalseating.co.uk/ I was fortunate to pay a fair whack less than retail as I was able to offer them advertisting on my site, but they are less than Recaro's RRP from there anyway.

So the Recaro ones are 10mm lower than the OEM recaros??

Assuming myself and TrophyDan are measuring the same place, yes. I wouldn't advise anyone to go out and replace their Renault subframes with Recaro ones just yet! (They are £114 a side)

I've not got any pics that show the rears sorry, but they are a pretty good match.

Recaro don't do any other subframes no. I used the Recaro adjuster. It doesn't look factory but I'd rather have the lower positioning. People will twig they are not factory fit when they see the rears anyhow.

Do you think Renualt had some of there own subframes made up then?

Any pictures of them fitted with the recaro adjuster?

Cheers

Rich

Yeah, the subframes Renault use look to be unique to them.

I'll get a load of pics as soon as I can.

I have the standard Renault Recaro Subframes and am looking to adjust the height of them at the moment as i still find them too high if you want to sit normally in them. Im only 6'2", but i dont like sitting with my hair too near the roof! So would be very interested in knowing how much lower these ones are, but £114 a side sounds a bit steep, anyone got any cheaper options?

I wondered if anyone would ever measure the gap and notice they are 20mm lower. There is a reason for it.;)
