Can anyone help diagnose my handling problem please?

  RS182 Full Fat
Appreciate any help. I'm new to owning a rs182. only had it a couple of days. It doesn't handle well at speed. I've two issues as follows:
1.
Steering wheel judder over 60mph and really bad over 70mph. I had all 4 wheels balanced today but it made no difference at all.
2.
At or over 60mph I can turn the steering wheel around an inch and half left or right and i still go in a straight line -no affect on direction. Steering very light also. (unless thats just a characteristic of these cars?)

My car is moddy slightly that may be worth mentioning. Lowered 30mm all round with red eibach springs. It has sh*tty Nankang newish tyres on fronts.

there should be no slop in the steering, first thing I would do is climb under it and do a full tighten up and check all the bushes and joints, worn ball joints and tie rod ends can cause lots of intersting handeling characteristics, tyres have a huuuge impact on handeling. as for steering vibration, could be a drive shaft issue or be conected to the amount of slop you have in the steering... im not sure of the hydraulic assisted steering but I can say that the EPAS system gives almost no feedback through the steering, compared to some other cars where you can feel every grain of dirt through the steering...

there are a load of specialists and knowledgable people on this forum, if you organise a few beers, most of them would be willing to re-build a car

FIXED. Ta for help. The first garage did not balance properly or at all really. Took it to another and got it balanced again and it perfect now.. No wheel shudder at all. Also had wheel alignment done which was way out. It's still not very responsive to change of direction at speed but that will just be the rubbish tyres I'm sure.

Where did you take to get it aligned? Noone in the west mids seems to know how to set it up correctly
