Can I assign my media buttons on my MBP?

I'm listening to itunes and want to pause it, so hit play/pause, and it pauses but spotify plays

Any way to just assign the keys to one application?

Ok, i'll spin the situation around.

I'm listening to spotify and play/pause the music, then it opens itunes which was closed and starts playing :S
Stupid mac.

I'm not sure mate. It's more annoying if you go to press skip and accidentally press play which then launches iTunes
