Can I get rid of this & how (pic inside)

This little strip of metal is quite annoying and i want to know if i can get rid of it as i'm having a full weld in cage. How can i get it off? Do you sort of drill the spot welds a little bit with a big drill piece?

Well i'm assuming its for strength but the cage does have 9-11 points that weld to the car and 4 gussets so i'm adding quite a bit of extra support :)

And it doesnt have one on the passengers side!

i think its just add a bit more stiffness in case of an accident, just to stop the floor coming up and forcing ur knees into the dash. I doubt that it would be seriously strong to do that, but, every little helps.

THIS, You'l want a spot weld drill bit to remove it unless you want loads of holes in your floor!

and its most probrably bonded on too, I'd be surprised if it is'nt.

yea a 6mm drill bit, hammer and chisel, and ur good to go.

also, if u get a piece of sand paper and rub it down a wee bit up the edges, it'll help show more of the spotwelds, incase u miss one and feck the floor.
