I came to my car this moring, went to start it, but it just clicked and tapped (it was as if the starter motor wasnt turning) i lifted the bonnet and there was a burning smell. this meaning my car wont start! .

can anybody give me any ideas to what it can be?

Just to add its a 1.2 16v

get a multimeter on your battery to check the voltage first , this will tell you if its the battery or not.

The fact it is clicking means it could be the battery but it also could be the starter motor. Test the battery and go from there

Sounds like a battery issue to me.
