CAN YOU LOWER A TROPHY

  Clio 172 Flamer
HI poeple ive had my trophy for a while now and ive getting the daft idea of lowering it a bit, i dont want to go low low because i dont want to effect the handling. i no eibach do a 20mm lowering spring for my car but thats it cant get it any lower.
So can any one tell me if i could put lowering springs from a standard 172/182 on my trophy because ive got no idea if they will fit,
Cheers

i dont think so. i think trophys have some fandango suspention setup so the only way you could lower it would be to get a set of colovers. i think

I'm sure someone said that that the existing dampers can be drilled to lower without any hardware changes - I could be completely wrong though...

You could lower it but if you choose the wrong type of spring it could very well affect the handling, in a bad way.

All springs have different spring rates/characteristics and the ones on the Trophy have been choosen to best suit the characteristics of the dampers and other suspension components to give really good handling!
Someone correct me if im wrong !
My opinion is to LEAVE IT ALONE.

robson - have you asked over on clio trophy at all ? If not it minght be worth copying the thread onto there.

Speak to Mark Fish Motorsport, he developed a set of lowering springs for my Trophy. They drop the car by 10mm front and rear.

If you are looking for road / track adjustability ask him about his re-valved rear Koni adjustable shocks, these are perfectly matched to work with the excellent (un-pinned) Sachs dampers upfront.

i'd leave the trophy mate, it has a 4K suspension on it, renault did the job properly, i wouldnt want to risk ruining the handling of the car.

But did they?

7Mat's car doesnt seem to have any ill-effects after changing the spring.
People need to stop listening to marketing bullcocks!
