Update on this, pretty much Official now. Running 1st of March to 30th of June.
Time to start 40D saving..... suddenly 100macro seems tempting, ffs!
Look up Kerso or PM me for cheaper prices for import gear that also gets the UK rebate...
Bumpage, so can anyone find a 40D body only for less than 665 delivered pre-rebate? Without using HK eBay that can't claim the rebate.

Went for a drive today and picked up these.....
I had to force myself to leave before I picked up two other lenses too! I had enough explaining to do when I got home to the Mrs..... "I had to buy them, I saved 210 Euros by buying them!!".... I'm not sure she bought it but I am loving my new toys.
The difference between the feel of this one and my old 350D is amazing. Everything from the shutter click to the door for the CF card just seems nicer. The machine gun 6.5 FPS is awesome too. With the 430EX attached, it looked like we had a disco strobe going in the lounge.

I don't think that there is enough of a difference between the wide ends at 17 and 24 to justify it surely? The new version is 16-35 too I think.
I definitely would not bother with the F4 but the F2.8 might be more useful. I dont know how second hand prices are in the UK but over here, second hand 10-22's sell for 50 Euros less than they do from the shops! If I do every move to full frame (unlikely as this is just a hobby) then I am fairly confident that I will not take a huge hit on the sell on value of the lenses.
On a side note, I am a bit worried about the focusing on my 40D (problems reported all over various forums). The photos look nice on the PC in high res and the 100% crops are also good but if you zoom in on the camera itself, you get a really blury image. Is yours the same? (just for my peace of mind!)

its coz of the low res screen mate, unlike the VGA on d300. boo.

AndyRS can the 430EX keep up with the 6.5fps?
127 shots with the flash not skipping a beat before I hit the cameras buffer. The flash not firing on full power which may have helped it along.
