Can't beat a Clio

hi to you all, just doing as newbies do :D

names Gareth and im from Gravesend in Kent. i had a clio as my first car and ever since i sold it i've been pining for another one ever since!

i've had my share of fast cars but nothing compares to the lift off over steer that a clio offers :rasp:

i'm driving round in a rover of all things till a find a decent mk1 valver shell that i'm planning to build a monster track/road car with.

yeah they start as sheds! i like cars that are different from the normal =) the blue clio was never a shed though, way too much money went it that car!

i know im being a c**k but imo the clio is nasty, youll get tortured if ya do any of those mods and post them on here. each to there own though were all interested in the same thing.

I know i'm fairly new round here so I'll choose my words carefully for the time being! But JEEZ! The 'rocco aint too bad but WTF were you thinking with the others!

May I suggest you look into other hobbies? As if you spent as much money on that clio as you are insinuating then i'm sorry but it was very much a case of wasted cash!

I'll find some pics of my mates old white valver... it was beautiful. I think the next owner wrote it off though :(

I love the fact everyone slates my clio! Lol but it was my baby, but I did build it 6 years ago now. she had a volve 480 turbo enhine running 298BHP! I had the engine mounted sideways had my good friend (a drifer) helped me install all the 340 running gear to make it rear wheel drive! Think I payed £100 for the car as it looks in the picture. Bodykits are not to my liking but I couldn't be bothered to take it off at the time lol

And yeah I know the re plates reads gay, is why I bought it haha! Oh and the sirroco! That model was the 16v model, very hard car to find today, as the same for the uno turbo.

God I sound like an old man rambling on now lol but please don't worry, my valver track car is gona be a monster sleeper car.

Awesome, a RWD Turbo Mk1 - good effort!

I fancy a saab / volvo 2.3 Turbo lump and RWD diff in a kit car one day.

That sounds a beast....shame about the outside but 6 yrs ago that prob what everyone did to there cars so far doos

loving the uno Turbo, rare rare machines nower days

Fair play! That's a lesson learnt for us all! It may look like a shitely kitted piece of crap but if it was running a RWD 300bhp setup I bet it was a monster!

Any pics / vids of it with the engine in??

Yeah she was a beast, hardest thing was the set up of the suspension so that I could go round a corner! With its short wheel base it was a change! But most of the time she was on the limiter going sideways, found it was the quickest way haha!
Yeah back then bodykits was the rage! But the paint job was done 6 months before Renault offically launced the cup 182 model so it was the first in the country to have that paint scheme! Handy knowing people in Renault =)

I've only got a few pictures of when I started ripping the car apart only because I have them online, my ex girlfriend was kind enough to burn everything I had so everything I had on the building of all my cars went up in smoke! Wasn't impressed! Lol
But don't worry, I'm planning on making my track car either RWD again or trying for a AWD set up, I've only ever seen it done once in a mk1 clio! So this time with no mental ex I'll have plenty of pictures to post. Just got to find a shell first!
