think the k-tec ones are apex (are they yellow?). if so i would avoid them, not good springs for handling but they do make the car sit nice. eibach sportlines are well worth the extra money imo. i have owned both.

dont think the k tec springs are apex ones. They are k tec's own ones.
I have just fitted apex 40mm to my car with standard shocks, and if you listen to all the crap about then being "totally shocking and harsh as fook etc etc" then you will be pleasantly surprised!
my car sits lovely, handles better than standard so it does handle good! and it isnt half as bad as people make out to be in ride quality. yeah its stiffer but its meant to be! you only notice it on speedbumps and potholes etc so you cant just say dont buy them because of that! eibachs etc will be the same if you hit bumps!
I think lowering is all down to your wallet, how fussy you are for comfort and what you want it to do, ie sit better, or handle better. imo ride quality over bumps etc shouldnt come into it as anything you put on the car is going to make it less comfortable than standard so why worry about it.

I've had apex. They basically turn a good car into a car with useless handling and a terrible ride. Just awful.
Get the eibach's. The only choice when looking at springs.

My advice is go for the sportlines. Got mine fitted on Friday totally transforms the handling and looks.

get the sportlines mate. will give you a nice drop. My dad has them on his E46 and they are decent. I have a set of the apex as said above and they are fine..........at the moment!
I am not going to comment any further on the matter as there is people on here with very strong opinions who feel the need add bits and bobs onto my post even though i DID listen and read up on them.
Luke. Who apart from you cares what springs i bought!? i am only giving the guy my feedback on the springs i got which i have only had for a few weeks and not a year. You should have done the same by writing your OWN post!

People rate the Eibachs over the Apex and have done for the 6 years I've been here, when I first joined loads of people had Apex and removed them. People don't just say stuff for the hell of it, 172 / 182's have been around for over 10 years now and funnily enough there's people on here who've been there and done that.

Our 172 has Eibach Pro kit springs and the ride quality is superb. They do not really lower the 172 by much though...10mm I would say on ours car. They are able to cope with crap roads and even speed bumps without throwing you at the roof. (though with CG-locks fitted to the seat belts thats not a problem)
