Car bk from rentech, advosiry on bonnet and mount under neath car

Alright guys, so i got my car back from rentech, happy days just skint now.
They mentioned that my bonnet catch is faulty and need to change it, now i looked at it, it does sit high when u look at side angle and has a bit of play.

You no any good websites to order from and il fit myself, or does it need to be taken to a Renualt dealer???

And think its the dog leg mount, cant remeber but its underneath and in the middle of car. Are they easy to fix and again any good websites. im new to all this so forgive me

Check with renault see if the bonnet catch has been replaced under the recall

for the dogbone mount you can either get a standard one of replace the old bushes with powerflex items

Renault dealer visit for the bonnet catch recall before the whole lot comes through the windscreen, usually FOC.

Dog bone mount is usually pretty cheap and an easy DIY job - Ktec do them or you'll get one from the for sale section or a trader on here.

Dont think its been done bonnet catch looks old.

Shall i just take to a renualt garage or do i need a letter or sumink ? how much do renault charge to fix it?

I had a recall they want £95 for there f--k up on the bonnet catch .

Mate if you come to the burger meet il bring my Ph1 catch and see if that can be fitted to it. Mine was recalled years ago so is one of the catches replaced. I think you can fit PH1 to Ph2 ?

Had a recall done on mine 4 years ago for a bonnet catch f.o.c and now i have another recall for £95 , I think I will put aero catches instead

This one is a check to see if the user of the vehicle has maintained the catch, not a recall. They will replace it FOC if they recall wasn't done in 2008.

is it a diff catch then that they change for free or just put a new 1 on ?

As you have only just bought the car! Check with Renault as they use DVLA info which may not be up to yet, so the previous owner might have had the letter, worth checking out first! Mines just been replaced F.O.C.

No it's the same catch. Like I said if it's been replaced before it is just a check to make sure it's up to standard or they lubricate, etc. If it's not they'll let you know that it should do with being replaced.

Some dealers will just replace it though.

As above, you've only just got the car so chances are you won't get a letter. The letter shouldn't make a difference to whether you'll receive it free as it should be on Renaults system whether or not your car has had the recall done.

rang up renault dealer, they said my car isnt involved in the recall so looks like im gna have to fork out again, brillaint
