If I were to buy one of these...

Would it reduce my insurance premium in the future as it would pretty much sort any accident situations without the need to argue stuff over in court (depending on where the camera is pointing!)

It films in 15min segments, can hold up to 32gb of data and will overwrite the last 15min segment to give continuous filming.

Once it is plugged in, it starts filming, so no buttons are needed to be pressed when driving.

It currently works out at just over £100

I wouldn't want a camera in my car recording my every move, even if it did reduce my premiums.

I'm unaware of any companies that currently offer a discounted premium for having one.

Unless its specifically part of the policy you take out with them.

Someone at work has one of these - it has two cameras (one forwards, the other looking back at the driver) and GPS. His records a journey at a time but if it senses a sudden change in speed (ie, 60 down to zilch) or you push a button then it saves a segment. The videos include GPS track points, so when you play it back the video is sync'd with a map overlay from Google.

Pretty neat but it won't reduce your premiums here.

I wouldn't want to be recorded like that.

And, it may be useful in court if there's an accident, but what happens when you're at fault? Your premium will go up.
