Unless your car is very very clean when you put it on, then no IMO.

Any dirt/grit under the cover will rub into your paintwork if the wind gets under your cover.

As for frost... well, your paint will be exposed to the elements whether you're driving it or not, so it's not worth it in that respect either.

ive got one but only becuase my car sit from weekend to weekend without being driven and id spend all day cleaning it on a sunday come to drive it next friday and it would be dirty so the cover just keeps the s**t off

Cheap cover will do more harm than good, would only consider it if you your thinking of getting a proper fitted one, which are not cheap. Cheap covers blow around in the wind and don't breath properly. Ok for the occasional use but would not risk one long term.

As Oms says, the car needs to be clean and dry before using one. Also the cover draws unwanted attention to the car when parked up, people wondering whats under it.
