car idleling (sp)

how olds the car, still in warranty

you may be able to do it yourself if someone shows a pic of where it is

on my mk1 i had this and just sprayed it all with wd-40, should really use carbcleaner but it worked anyway

dont all clios have lumpy idles?? mine seems to bounce between 800 and 1000rpm

seems to be common through the years, mk1s do it alot

obviously there not meant to but its just very common

i had this problem and it ended up bein a whole new throttle body unit needed which is £250 from renault.

If anyones noticed his profile says he has a 1.2 16v so im assuming its new mk2 shape.

Its very very common problem on these 1.2 16v engines.

First thing is to change the Coil Pack its about £45+VAT from renault. (only available from there)

they wont change it under warrenty.

If that doesnt help, the Throttle Body needs cleanign out - this is a tedious task and you must know what you are doing as u have to lift off the top part of the engine.

Also lot of wires in the way.

Make sure the car has a had a good service also - other then that not much else you can do! apart from put up with it,
