Car is Only Worth £7,000 now (clio 182)

Just had it estimated due to a van hitting be from behind. They also estimated the cost of repair to be £3,280. Its only a 54 plate, 3 years old with 60,000 miles on. Thats a steep depreceation isn't it!!!

i got 6k for my 182 with 67k on it as a trade in. just before xmas mate. plus im losing another 4k on the bmw trading that in to get a v6. it sucks.

like a few others, i took what i could get.

Mine was 2 years old, 24k, inferno 182 cup. It needed 24k service, but that was it.

A trader/dealer offered me 7.5k for it, so i took it.

I doubt i will buy another new car.

I am currently waiting for my Subaru Impreza Spec-C to come in on boat from Japan. Its 3 years old, but with only 9k on the clock. Saved 11 grand on it, compared to its price new!

I think he means insurance have valued it at 7k due to it being hit, i.e. what they would pay out for in a claim.

What they tell you isn't gospel, if there are sales of similar age/milage cars that are going for more cash then challenge it.

Problem I had when my 19 was written off is their first offer was more than I was expecting and couldn't prove it was worth anymore!

My car is all fixed now

New reg plates, new grill at the front, fixed bonnet and fixed the boot. Also a complete new exhaust and cat converter. I'm very happy now
