Car pulls to side under acceleration

Had my car a couple months and tbh I thought nothing was wrong with it and was totally happy. But I drove a friends 172 the other day and noticed that my car felt a little worse under heavy acceleration in the higher revs.

Basically when accelerating hard up in the variable valve rev range, the steering pulls to the side, and I initially thought it was just the wheels breaking traction but it does it in 2nd gear at much higher speed. My friends 172 pretty much didn't do it at all. It's so bad that when I go to change gear it's an effort to stop the wheel steering the car to the side when one hand is on the wheel.

Coming from a 1.2 Punto I sort of told myself to man up since it's a much quicker car lol, but now I see it's not necessarily how it should be.

Pressures are fine, and at high speed there's no vibration so I assume the wheels are balanced, plus the car doesn't pull to the side under normal driving even at motorway speed so I assume the tracking isn't far out if at all.

Any ideas what it could be?

1. A bit of tug is normal sometimes
2. ''variable valve rev range'' incorrect
3. What tyres are you on?

Ok thats good I thought that originally, I'm on some budget tyres that the car came with, hoping to fit Michelins soon.

So I've nothing to worry about? I was starting to think since the car's covered 74k maybe parts were needing replacement soon!

You comparing the two cars on the same piece of road? The camber etc of the road will have a pretty big effect on how the car behaves.

Both were on flat roads but yeah I assume the road I drove the 172 on was probably flatter on the edges. Tbh I was probably just worrying about nothing, I just thought I'd check to to see that it's not a common fault from higher mileage cars. I'll take mine for a spirited drive tomorrow and confirm it but like you said it is probs just road camber/different cirumstances.
Cheers!
