Car sounds like a aeroplane over 85mph!

Was driving back down my (private) motorway earlier, got to about 110 and f**k me I thought there was a helicopter on my roof the noise was so loud, sounded similar to a jet engine or a helicopter and was load as f**k. Dropped below about 85/90 and it stopped completely!

Took the wheel off but can't really see anything wrong with it? Pin hole in the CV boot tiny tiny bit of grease come out but thats it and I think that was there before anyway!

Any ideas?

or just possibly nails in your tyres, unlikely though

Yeah that would explain why it dissappeared when i went round the twisties it couldnt keep up

Yeah I thought maybe similar but it isn't a rumble and it didn't start out quiet!

I should say I just changed the wheel bearing on that side and there was some issues with the guy having to cut the old one out and the hub being a little fucked... but to cause a noise like that just suddenly...?

whenever i have a problem i always go back to the thing i did last first even if my tyre blows i'll go back to the fuse i changed in my headunit and like 9/10 its whats caused it, i ripped out some foorwell neons i put in last year coz i never used them used the car about 3 hours later and my clock and headunit were dead checked the wiring i'd pulled out seperated it all changed a fuse and wallaa fixed

With my car I probably wouldn't notice! That or Id get out and put it back on not bat an eyelid and act like it happens all the time haha

hhhmmmm sounds odd that is has completely gone, probably was a plane above your head!

No because it did everytime I went over 80mph, when I was about 2 miles away from home thought Id boot it and see if it did it again, and nothing! Took it all the way up to 120 and not a sausage!
