Car taking longer to start?

noticed this the other day but thought it was just down to the battery going dead. now i have replaced it. i noticed it again today.

just taking a bit longer than usual to start?

also what colour should the pollen filter be? took mine out today to give it a hoover and its black.... lol

pollen filter should be white !! black is filthy there only 12.00 from andrew pages or other motor factors,
