Car Won't Drive?

Hey... my car stopped working today at a T Junction. I put it in 1st to pull away and it just revved like it was in neutral? So I put it in 2nd and it did the same. It did it in every gear.

Anyone had this problem before? Its not driveable at all, the engine runs fine and it has no warning lights or anything. The car just won't engage and drive. I can have the engine running and without using the clutch I can put it into any gear position without it grinding... that tells me its not engaging at all and the gearbox has somehow come disconnected?

Any ideas what to look at or for? I'm clueless. Probably going to take it to a garage tomorrow. But figured I'd ask on here incase anyones had the same problem before.

i had the same problem before but my problem was a snapped driveshaft

if you put it in gear and rev does the speedo go up ?
depends on wether your cars speed is sensed from the g/box though what model is it?

Sounds like the clutch has gone to me.

This was my initial thought... but because its going into gear without grinding without touching the clutch, makes me think otherwise. But you could be right, I'll take it to a garage today and mention both to them, see what they find.

Turned out to be a snapped driveshaft too on the drivers side. Suckage!
